Friday Links

Here's an article about Amazon starting to lend ebooks like a library. By only allowing people to borrow 1 book a month though, I think libraries have little concern at this point.

The Story Siren did a great post about 10 Myths of Book Blogging. Myth #3 is especially important to pay attention to, because blogging is not easy.

Kiersten White revealed the cover for book 3 with Evie, Endlessly, here. It's gorgeous like the others.

Not strictly book related, but I thought the article about the World's Most Powerful Laser was pretty neat.

Here's a ridiculous article in the Vancouver Sun about Why We Should Shut Down Our Libraries.

Angie Smibert wrote an interesting post about getting Big Stuff done and Dystopians.

If you all haven't seen it yet, Hannah Moskowitz posted the Zombie Tag trailer on her blog.

Also, November looks like it's going to be a great month for YA. Here's a list of some titles I'm looking forward to this month. (Clicking on titles will bring you to it's Goodreads page)
Legend by Marie Lu
The Future of Us by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler
The Space Between by Brenna Yovanoff
Death Watch by Ari Berk
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Don't Expect Magic by Kelly McCullough
Darker Still by Renee Leanna Hieber
Crossed by Ally Condie
First Day on Earth by Cecil Castellucci
The Pledge by Kimberly Derting

I'm sure I'm forgetting some XD Tell me in the comments about the books you're excited for this month! I will be having a big 500 Followers contest soon, so keep your eyes open! Happy Reading!

  1. The Vancouver Sun article re library closures was - in my honest opinion - so trite & ignorantly off-base as to be laughable were it not so appalling.

I can't speak for everyone, but here in my wee town we are blessed with a magnificent public library which is always busy & certainly appreciated, unlike the sentimental dinosauer depicted in this pathetic article.

  2. This is the first time I've seen his feature and I like it!

That Vancouver article is ridiculous. I go to the library at least twice a week. My dad goes every day. My mom goes once every three days. Most people I know use the library a lot- for books, and for the Internet. Plus, it's the universal place to study. I'd be really sad if they started closing down libraries.

*thinks I should show more library appreciation now*
