My teaser is from a book that's perfect for all ages -- geared to those who don't know much about football but would like to know enough to join in the fun when people are watching games. I don't want to stereotype, but one example would be the girl who has a football-loving boyfriend and wants to understand more. "A Sportscaster's Guide to Watching Football" by Mark Oristano is perfect for them. (That's how I know about it -- a mom I know has a football fanatic 13-year-old!)
ReplyDeleteIn addition to giving you the basics, there are also some great stories about life in the professional football world. So the author is watching a linebacker draw on his taped-up shoes (his ankle is taped on the outside) the shoe logo. Why not tape inside? Wouldn't that be easier. "But then I'd actually have to wear their damn shoes and I hate 'em. So I wear the brand I like and do it this way instead."
Makes you wonder how many people are not true to their logos!
