First Novels Spotlight

Photobucket
So for August I thought I'd do a bit of blast from the past and feature some author's first novels. I mean there are some authors that people rave about who have a dozen books out, but not many people have gone back and read the novel that started it all. I mean, you've probably read Imaginary Girls but have you read Dani Noir? You've probably read The Name of the Star, but not The Key to the Golden Firebird right? So this month I'd like to go back and visit first novels, because they are very important. They are the first creations that authors sent out into our world and I think it's fantastic to go back then see how they've grown or changed.

Also, I will be giving away a first novel to one lucky commenter. All you have to do is comment on any post(s) this month and you will be entered to win one first novel of your choice. This is open to anyone in the world, so comment away :)

If you'd like to join in on the fun, even for one day or one week, feel free to grab the button and post about some first novels yourself. If you e-mail me a link, I'll add them into posts this month.
Thanks and Happy Reading!

  1. This is such a good idea! For some authors I went and got all their books and read them in the order they were published, like for Sarah Dessen and Maureen McCarthy, and I've been tempted to do it for a few other authors too.

I think that's actually a really neat idea, I know there's TONS of first novels I haven't yet read and would appreciate getting to! :D
